art athina 2010
yesterday i paid a visit to Art Athina 2010 in Tae Kwon Do Pavillion.
the exhibits were quite impressive, with lots of european galleries impersonating the essence of art expression nowadays. it took me 3 hours to admire all the exhibits as well as to chat with some of the exhibitors in order to acknowledge information concerning the artwork.
the decoration of the exhibition space was well prepared and the lighting made the atmosphere full of mystery and anticipation for the visitor who was looking forward to stroll through the galleries.

Here are some of my favourite pieces:
Valli Nomidou was my favorite sculptor of the whole exhibition!
it's amazing how Nomidou can make a sculpture using recycled paper, cartons and organic materials.
the sensitivity that comes out of it, is undoubtely a difficult achievement for an artist, however not for her :)
Pavlos is another great greek artist who also uses paper but in a completely different way compared to Nomidou's technique.

Tim Walker
When i made my first trip to London in 2008, i instantly fell in love
with the gorgeous photographs of Tim Walker at the Design Museum.
His photographs are full of colour, imagination and surrealism
in a very sensitive and romantic way in my humble opinion!

Athens Photo Inspiration 2010
Το Athens Photo Inspiration, ο μεγαλύτερος διαγωνισμός για τη φωτογραφία στην Ελλάδα, πραγματοποιείται από το Ελληνικό Κέντρο Φωτογραφίας για τρίτη συνεχή χρονιά, την Kυριακή 6 Ιουνίου, με την υποστήριξη του Nestea. Η διοργάνωσή του αποτελεί μία πρωτότυπη πολιτιστική πρωτοβουλία με κύριο στόχο την υποστήριξη της ατομικής και συλλογικής καλλιτεχνικής έκφρασης μέσα από τη φωτογραφία.
Οι συμμετέχοντες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να πάρουν μέρος σε έναν πρωτότυποφωτογραφικό «μαραθώνιο» στο κέντρο της Αθήνας, να επικοινωνήσουν και να εκφραστούν ελεύθερα προσεγγίζοντας μέσα από τη δική τους ματιά, σε διάρκεια έξι ωρών, ένα συνδυασμό τεσσάρων θεμάτων, με έμπνευση από την καθημερινή ζωή της πόλης. Απαραίτητη προϋπόθεση για τη συμμετοχή δεν είναι τόσο η τεχνική γνώση του φωτογραφικού μέσου, όσο η έμπνευση και η διάθεση για δημιουργία.
